Birth certificate initiative

Legal identity is the beginning of belonging.

Birth registration gives formal recognition to a child's identity and can affect access to education, health services and legal protection.

UPSDE's role includes raising awareness, guiding vulnerable families through the process and working with relevant authorities such as RITA. Documented results appear above.

Tunaweza Disability Foundation
Implementer of the TULIA KUMEKUCHA mental-health project, in which UPSDE participated in the Midline Survey across 19 wards of Mbeya Region. UPSDE is also expected to participate in the Endline Survey.
Grand Challenge Canada (GCC)
Funder of the TULIA KUMEKUCHA project by TUNAWEZA Disability Foundation, under which UPSDE participated in the Mbeya mental-health Midline Survey and is expected to take part in the future Endline Survey.
